Overall Rating: 4/5
Conditions: Day 1: 4-5 inches of fresh snow. Day 2: 10-12 inches of fresh snow.
Pros: Good Variety of Terrain. Some great chutes off backside (Paradise Lift). Great tree skiing off off Ptarmigan lift. Steep glades off Larch. Held snow better than Sunshine. Utilizes all mountain faces so you can avoid wind etc.
Cons: Front side is susceptible to whiteout conditions and has little tree cover. There is a lack of high speed lifts leading to long lines and wait times. Parking can be interesting an and require a lengthy walk.
Comments: Lake Louise was a step above Sunshine in terms of snow coverage, terrain quality, and far surpassed in the gladed skiing category. I really enjoyed having all the different faces and the way the Summit Platter lift held in the snow really well. This area would benefit from a couple more high speed chairs on the backside as one time our wait was over a half hour.
