Overall Rating: 4.75/5

Conditions: Day 1: Bluebird day, 25F, no new snow. Day 2: 10" new snow, cloudy.

Pros: Terrain is definitely catered to experts. Vast amounts of all styles of expert terrain from bowls to glades to chutes and hiking terrain. The upper mountain layout is very efficient. Great snow coverage. Great parking layout.

Cons: Low elevation base area. Hearing the Heli-Skiing operations makes you wish you were doing that instead.

Comments: Revelstoke made it into my top 5 resorts list. I would rate it as my second favorite ski resort thus far, falling short only to Taos Ski Valley. To start off, everyone at Revelstoke knows how to ski really well. This is definitely a hub for proffessional free skiers. There is just so much quality expert terrain available. Revelstoke had what I would call the "Grand Targhee Effect". That is, for the most part, all the terrain available is open to ski. There aren't a lot of specifically cut runs but instead you can ski all the acreage available. The snow quality was also great. Similar to the way Grand Targhee has better snow than Jackson Hole, Revelstoke had better snow than the other Canadian resorts. Last, the layout for the expert terrain is extremely simple. Two lifts plus a short amount of hiking service pretty much all the expert terrain.
